The KROT-1 Laboratory is an abandoned laboratory located deep in the military bunkers.
Biography[]
During the Soviet regime, the KROT project was launched in 1981 under the supervision of Professor Alexander "Shurik" Korolyov with the intention of creating modern medicine. KROT-1 was only in operation until 1983 when an experiment goes horribly wrong in March, killing Shurik and several other staff members.
On March 18th, Mikhail Sorokin made an attempt to test a stronger sample of the R2D virus on Subject 34, AKA Anton, but was killed by the subject by pushing his metal hand into his neck. Anton then freed two of the other subjects before all three killed two security guards and attacked the lab assistants. Shurik and three others, Mikhail Volkov, Alexander Popov, and Naum Davydov managed to fight through the maddened subjects and reach the deepest part of the bunker, but Shurik became infected with the R2D virus after a test subject grazed his shoulder. Volkov, Popov, and Davydov were the first to die before Shurik suffers the same fate. Shurik's mutation also resulted in the creation of the Brain Tree.
The lab continued to operate for at least two more months before the staff evacuated the labs and relocated to the KROT-2 and KROT-3 labs.

After 26 years, a group of terrorists attacked the military bunkers resulting in a series of cave-ins. Fearing another biological contamination, the Russian government sent in a group of scientists to infiltrate the labs to prevent such an outcome. However, the scientists were killed after being attacked by the infected inhabitants.
Assuming that the terrorists are jamming the scientists' signal, DIRIZHER was sent in to investigate, but was killed by the infected personnel. At the same time, Major Alexander Kalashnikov entered the labs and came across the dead bodies of the scientists, DIRIZHER, and former personnel from decades past. He was forced to fight against the infected before escaping to Level K-3.
After talking with Paulina Korolyov, the head scientist of KROT-3 and daughter of Professor Korolyov, the clone soldiers suddenly start attacking the lab personnel. Professor Vasiliy Pirigov determined that the source controlling the clones was coming from the KROT-1 labs and the Major and Kulak were sent in to eliminate it. Both Spetsnaz operatives fight their way through more infected personnel as well as maddened test subjects and mutants before the Major comes across the Brain Tree, which was the source controlling the clones. The Major then kills the four hosts (including Professor Korolyov) before joining Kulak again.
Paranoia 2: Savior[]
FSB units infiltrate the KROT-1 and Command makes the decision to have the labs destroyed. The Major and Paulina make their escape just as the explosives detonate, destroying KROT-1 from existence.
